Boss Laser Cutter & Engraver

Boss Laser Cutter & Engraver

Boss Evo Desktop CO2 Laser Cutter & Engraver:

The Boss Evo Desktop CO2 Laser Cutter & Engraver is a laser cutting and etching machine. It can etch and/or cut wood, leather, acrylic, and other flat materials (ask staff for details). Patrons are expected to remain on site and to keep a close watch on their projects while the laser is active. The average appointment time is roughly two hours.

Dimension Guidelines:

  • Crumb Tray: The crumb tray will hold material that is 12 x 24 x 0.25 inches at maximum.
  • Etching: the print head cannot reach to the very edges of the crumb tray, so we recommend a somewhat smaller engraving area of 11 x 23 x 0.25 inches.
  • Cutting: we recommend cutting materials at a maximum depth of 1/8th of an inch.

Material Guidelines:

Purchase materials on site or bring your own materials to use the machine free of charge. Scrap materials are provided free of charge. Availability of a certain item or color is not guaranteed.

Materials must be laser-safe. They must be raw, clearly marked, and untreated or uncoated. Patrons are expected to bring or to purchase extra material and test the laser’s settings before proceeding with the design. Staff reserve the right to inspect and refuse potentially harmful materials or to stop the machine at any time.
