Adult Writing Contest
Calling all adult writers! This contest is for you! Enter your original short story or poem for a chance to win a prize. Entries will be accepted from June 1 – July 31. Winners will be chosen on August 15th.
Email your submission as an attachment to: adultswrite@lanepl.org. (You will receive a “thank you” email within 48 hours of submitting your work. If you do not receive this email, please double check that you sent your short story/poem to the correct email address. Guidelines for submissions:
- You must be ages 18 & up to enter
- Entries must be typed, double-spaced, and attached to the email as a file attachment (must be submitted as a Word Doc, Google Doc, or PDF)
- Please include your name, age, phone number, and email address
- Entries may not exceed 2,000 words
- Limit 1 poem and 1 short story entry per person
- Work must be original, not previously published, and titled
Work will be judged on originality, clarity, ideas presented, voice, word choice, presentation, sentence structure, syntax and spelling.
1st place: $50.00 Amazon gift card
