Lane Tech Center

The Lane Libraries Community Technology Center is located in the former Journal News building at 228 Court Street. The center offers a high-tech collaborative work/play/create space with public use computers (both PC and Mac), Adobe Creative Cloud software, a Cricut Maker 3, 3D printers, a Glowforge laser cutter and wifi available throughout.

Parking Info

Parking is free at all metered spots after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends. Before 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, there is metered parking on High Street, a metered parking lot located next to the Tech Center, and the McDulin parking garage, which is free for the first 2 hours and $.75 for each hour after that.

Classes/Workshops

Knowledgeable staff are available to answer your questions about eReaders, tablets, computers, software, 3D printing and other technologies. They also offer several free classes, workshops, and special events on a regular basis, including:

  • One-on-one computer instruction for beginners and up

  • Resume writing and job seeking resources

  • Tech/STEM classes and resources for tweens, teens and adults

  • Individual help using Lane’s online resources

If you see a class that you’re interested in but can’t attend, ask us about setting up an individual or group session.

The Tech Center boasts an extensive list of hardware and software for your use. Some of the highlights include:

To use the VR headset or access the Steam gaming library, please call or email for scheduling. Patrons must be 13 or older to use the room without adult supervision. No more than 4 people may be in the room during VR use. Sessions will be up to 60 minutes at a time.

3D Printing

The Tech Center provides 3D printing in various colors and filament types. The Tech Center currently has two Prusa I3 MK3s. Please email or call for instructions on using the 3D printers.
