The Lane Libraries Present the Wonder of Nature Photo Contest
The Lane Libraries are looking for photos taken here in our community that capture the wonder of nature. Participants may enter one photo for consideration between March 15 and May 15. The photo subject must be relevant to the theme of the contest: wildlife, plants and natural scenery captured in our community. Winners in three age categories (ages 12 – under, ages 13 – 17, and ages 18 – up) will receive gift cards to various retailers and will be announced on May 22.
To Enter:
Email your photo to photocontest@lanepl.org between March 15 and May 15. Include your:
- Name
- Age
- City
- The location where your photo was taken
- A caption
- Preferred method of contact (please provide an email address or phone number)
(To ensure eligibility for the contest, please submit files no larger than 20MB.)

Photo Eligibility
Lane Libraries patrons may enter one (1) photo between March 15 and May 15. The photo subject must be relevant to the theme of the contest: wildlife, plants and natural scenery in our community.
Photographer/Copyright
By submitting a photo entry, you certify that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo. The contest is open to amateur photographers only. Professional photographers who earn a living by selling their photographs are not eligible to participate. There is no fee for entering the contest. Lane Libraries employees and their immediate families are not eligible to win.
Photo Subject Restrictions
Photos must be appropriate for posting on the library’s website and social media. Obscene, provocative, or otherwise questionable content will not be considered. The Lane Libraries reserve the right to decide what constitutes inappropriate content.
Ownership/Use Rights
Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph displayed on the Library’s website or social media without any fee or other form of compensation.
Judging:
Entries will be judged by a panel of Lane Libraries staff members on the basis of creativity, composition, and relation to the theme, “The Wonder of Nature.”
Winners:
Winners will be notified using the information provided in the entry email. Winning photographs, along with the photographer’s name and information about the photo will be displayed on the library’s website and Facebook page.
