Important information to understand before visiting the Lane Libraries during this time:

  • Masks are strongly encouraged. Masks will be available if you do not have one.
  • Masks are required while visiting the Oxford Lane Library per the city-wide face covering ordinance.
  • Masks are required for ages 3 – up during indoor programs where patrons will be in close contact with one another. These circumstances will be determined by Lane staff.
  • There are occupancy limits in certain areas of some buildings due to space constraints. If the area is congested, patrons will be asked to conduct their business as quickly as possible to make space for others.
  • While there are no time limits for library visits, usage of public computers will be limited to two hours per day.

For the winter quarter, there will be some in-person programming and availability of meeting spaces inside the buildings. There are also some virtual programming opportunities. View the calendar of events here. Due to limited room capacity during COVID, we ask that child care providers not bring their groups to story time. Please contact the library if you are interested in scheduling a special program specifically for your group.

The Lane Libraries are now distributing Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Tests provided by the Ohio Department of Health.

These home test kits are available at Lane drive-thru windows only. It is highly recommended that you download the Navica app and create an account prior to picking up a kit. You will follow instructions in the app before opening your kit and the test will be proctored via smartphone or webcam video chat. Do not open your kit until you are told to during your appointment through Navica. For more information about this test kit, read this detailed checklist.

The Lane Libraries are distributors of this Covid-19 Home Test and cannot assist with testing or questions about the product. Please contact the Ohio Department of Health with questions.

If you are feeling ill or under quarantine, please stay home and take advantage of Lane’s online resources, some of which are detailed below.

Online Resources

We are so happy to see that many of you are taking advantage of our digital resources more than ever before! If you haven’t yet checked out these services, visit www.lanepl.org and click on eResources to discover all that’s available to you from home. Learn a new instrument from home with ArtistWorks, take online classes to keep up with CEUs through Universal Class, learn a new language using Transparent Languages, or find out more about Lane’s offerings through our very own Webinar Wednesdays series.

You also have access to countless eBooksaudiobookssongsvideos, and magazines through our website. If you aren’t able to find your library card or don’t currently have one, you can register for a library card here.

Also, for those of you who have children under the age of 5, you can now sign up to take part in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library! This service mails one book a month to every enrolled child from birth until their fifth birthday. Thanks to the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library, Butler County United Way, and other local donors who have made this possible for the children of Butler County. Visit www.imaginationlibrary.com to get started.

You can also follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheLaneLibraries for regular updates and links to more great resources.
