Teen Writing Contest
"Our Own Words"
Tuesday, September 9 - Friday, November 14
Get ready to let your imagination and creative energy run free for the
Lane Libraries' teen writing contest. All short story and poetry writers
are welcome to submit their work. Contest rules and entry forms are available
at any Lane location or at www.laneteenzone.org. Awards night is Thursday,
December 4, 7:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Lane Library.

Squish
the Ellipse: Drawing 3D Objects with Diane Stemper ®
Thursdays, October 23 & November 13
4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Participants will learn about and practice placement of shadows, methods
of shading and squishing ellipses so that objects look 3D. We will explore
drawing different types of objects, natural and mechanical, and will experiment
dividing up the page in interesting ways. Different media will be explored.
Registration is for both sessions.

Local authors Ned Webb and Kalinde Webb discuss writing The Short-Legged
Fisher Boy of the Land of the Left. This talk also concludes the Community
Book Circles project co-sponsored by the Miami/Talawanda Partnership and
the Oxford Lane Library, featuring cross-generational groups of readers.
