The Oxford Lane Library Presents Fashionably Fictional

The Oxford Lane Library and Oxford Community Arts Center present Fashionably Fictional on Saturday, May 17, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. A local 4-H group will model some fashions of their favorite literary characters and eras. Create your own paper doll and find out how much you know about fashion trends through the ages. This program is open to ages 8 – 12 and will take place at the Oxford Community Arts Center at 10 S. College Ave. This is a cooperative program of the Oxford Lane Library and the Oxford Community Arts Center. Registration is required. Call 523-7531, ext. 218 for more information. Third Thursdays for Kids at the Oxford Lane Library

Dive into the book The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick at the Third Thursdays book discussion group for kids on Thursday, May 15, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Oxford Lane Library. Children in grades 4 – 6 are invited to join the book discussion and enjoy some cool activities that will explain what a cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man and a mysterious message all have in common. Database Discovery at the Fairfield Lane Library

Your very own private story time is waiting just for you at the Fairfield Lane Library with Database Discovery – Story Time on Demand. Children ages 3 - 8 are invited to open up the Tumblebooks database, sit back and listen as the pages of the book unfold. Visit the children's area anytime December – March to discover what this wonderful database has to offer. For details call 858-3238, ext. 360. Casey is Back at the Oxford Lane Library!

Casey, an English Setter, needs someone to read to him. The Oxford Lane Library invites readers of all ages to practice their readings skills with a friendly, accepting listener at Reading with Casey, the Dog Who Loves Books. New TumbleBook Online Books!

The Lane Libraries now offers a new database for children called TumbleBook Library. It is an online collection of animated, talking picture books, puzzles and games, which teach young children the joys of reading a format that they'll love.

Be a published author! The Hamilton Lane Library is now accepting submissions for a new literary magazine for kids 12 and under we're calling "Pockets." We're looking for your stories, poetry, illustrations, book reviews, photographs and essays. Entry form available here.
